How does one place an order?
Beam accepts orders via telephone, fax or internet, through
either the order page of this web site or an email. We prefer internet or faxed
orders.
What lead time should I plan on?
We typically process orders on the day of receipt for stock
skimmers. US shipping is via FedEx two day, which delivers in two business days.
International shipping is via FedEx International Economy (if available), which
takes about 5 calendar days to Europe or Asia. FedEx has a 7 calendar day
service guarantee for International Economy. Please note that customs clearance
can add substantially to delivery time.
Rush orders can be shipped using FedEx Priority at an
additional charge (i.e., the differential in FedEx charges.)
Custom skimmers usually take four to six weeks to ship.
Additional information can be found in the Skimmers section.
Does Beam supply an order confirmation
We do not confirm receipt of an order routinely but will
gladly do so upon request. We would confirm orders via email or fax
Note that Beam does routinely confirm shipping particulars
for international orders
Does Beam supply formal quotations?
Yes, we supply quotations upon request.
Does Beam supply pro forma invoices?
Yes, upon request.
My company/university/agency requires certain information in order to
enter Beam as a vendor so a purchase order can be generated.
This is not a problem. Just fax the forms to us and we will
fill them out and fax them back. For US tax purposes, Beam is not subject to
backup withholding and will supply a Form W-9 on request.
What payment methods are acceptable?
Beam will accept payment by a check drawn on a US-based
bank branch or electronically by wire transfer or ACH. Payable in US dollars in
every case. Payment options and our account information are included with every
invoice. Our mailing address is on the Contact link of
this site.
Does Beam accept credit cards for payment?
Not at this time. Requests for credit cards have been
infrequent and the charges, which would be imposed on Beam by the credit card
processor, are expensive – about 3% of the charge amount. According to the
rules of the credit card companies, no surcharge for credit cards are allowed,
so most sellers raise all prices a small amount or post prices as “credit”
prices and offer discounts for cash payment.
Beam has chosen not to raise everyone’s prices or to move
to a cash discount process. We will evaluate demand for credit cards
periodically to determine if we should change our policy.
